Cryogenic grease is used to mount and secure sensors, providing both good thermal contact and good electrical insulation.
Apiezon® Grease - Type N and Type H
Stabilized
Non-always sensor mounting
Chemically inert
Non-toxic
Easy to apply and remove
Excellent lubrication properties
Apiezon® vacuum grease is ideal for use at low temperatures due to its low vapor pressure and high thermal conductivity. It is often used for non-constant mounting and heat sinking of cryogenic sensors, as well as for lubricating joints and O-rings.
Apiezon® N: General purpose grease for enhanced thermal contact and for temporary mounting and fixing of temperature sensors. Soft at room temperature and easy to cure at low temperatures, it is used to fix sensors, which can be easily removed at room temperature (without damage). This grease is not an adhesive and can assist with some mechanical device, such as spring tabs or tape, in order to hold the sensor or wire in place. For applications where the sensor is mounted into a hole, grease is ideal. Grease contains polymer hydrocarbon additives that have a durable, rubber-like consistency that allows it to form a cushion between two mating
The durable, rubber-like consistency of the grease allows it to form a cushion between the two mating surfaces.
Apiezon® H: This grease can withstand temperatures up to 523 K (250 °C) without melting. It is designed for general purpose applications requiring a higher melting point grease.
Note: Can be removed by rinsing with xylene isopropyl alcohol.
